About the Location
Surrounded by the stunning Rocky and Purcell Mountain ranges and nestled in the majestic valley of a thousand peaks, Invermere and Radium Hot Springs are in the Columbia Valley of the East Kootenays. Invermere is situated on Lake Windermere which is one of the warmest and largest lakes in the region attracting boating and swimming enthusiasts as well as fishing and outdoor skating activities. It is a hub for world-class skiing, golf, hiking, rafting, climbing, and mountain biking. Radium Hot Springs, an idyllic mountain town just 15 minutes away from Invermere, is a place for both adventure and relaxation.
About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Branch Manager to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis in Invermere/Radium, BC. As Branch Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operation of our Invermere headquarter branch and our Radium satellite branch, through the efficient management of day-to-day branch operations, as they relate to financial, employee, member, and community responsibilities.
More specifically, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing the branch plan in alignment with the strategic plan and within budget
- Providing ongoing direction, coaching, motivation, and support to branch staff, including effective and timely performance feedback and individual development opportunities
- Ensuring service delivery quality is maintained and corporate and member expectations are being met
- Processing and approving retail and commercial lines of credit, loans, and mortgages within assigned lending limits, including preparing loan documentation
- Facilitating effective, timely two-way communication and acting as a key liaison between the District Manager, corporate departments, and branch staff on all issues related to branch operations
- Proactively developing new initiatives around product & service procedures
- Creating a trusting environment to foster collaboration and innovation by listening masterfully, learning from others, being aware of the bigger picture, discerning when change needs to occur, and being a masterful facilitator
- Managing branch staffing, recruitment, employee development, performance improvement, corrective action, and labour relations, in consultation with the district manager and/or Human Resources
- Acting as a Community Champion by actively participating in local community events, building relationships, and representing and promoting KSCU within the community
About You
In order to qualify for this role, you will need a minimum of 7 years of progressive financial industry experience, including at least 3 years of branch management experience, along with completion of a Bachelor’s Degree or designation in business administration or business management. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
As our ideal candidate, you possess advanced knowledge of personal and business lending and deposit policies, practices, and procedures, as well as advanced knowledge and skills in sales techniques, and a complete understanding of branch operations, products, and services. You have a basic understanding of human resource policies and practices including planning, staffing, compensation, and performance management, and are computer savvy with the ability to maximize efficiencies through technology.

Your excellent planning and organizational skills, strong communication skills and proven leadership capabilities will help ensure your success.
