About the Opportunity

Reinbold is expanding and growing! Currently, we are seeking a full-time Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in our Vancouver office. 

As our new Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible in overseeing all multiple and concurrent project elements including but not limited to: design, schedule, resources, client expectations, and contracts.

Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing mechanical HVAC and plumbing system designs for various new and renovation projects
  • Leading the detailed design of various project sizes, and delegating specific tasks to team members
  • Supervising mechanical designers with varying levels of seniority on schematics, design development, and engineering design reports
  • Analyzing client design proposals to determine the most appropriate and cost-effective design solutions
  • Informing all parties of project scope, changes, and additional fees
  • Marketing additional services to clients as needed, such as energy modeling, commissioning, et al.
  • Taking on full project delivery responsibilities, including design errors, schedule, and profitability
  • Performing construction site reviews when required
  • Providing mentorship to members of the Reinbold team
  • Giving technical guidance to clients and other consultants
  • Attending design and coordination meetings as required
  • Accomplishing high-quality workmanship and project timelines through continuous efficiency improvements

About You

To qualify, you must have at least 10 years of relevant experience in HVAC and Building Systems, a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or degree in Mechanical Engineering, and at least one of the following accreditation or certification: P Eng, PL Eng, P Tech, CET, or C Tech

To succeed in this role, you will also need:

  • Strong project management, leadership, and coaching experience
  • Detailed understanding of mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC, heating, cooling, air handlers, and fire protection
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of current codes and standards such as the applicable plumbing, building, and energy codes
  • Excellent written skills and understanding of software programs as required
  • Residential multifamily project experience

Candidates with LEED Certification, and AutoCad, REVIT & Trace 700 skills, will be considered but not required.
