About the Opportunity
Acden Facilities currently has opportunities for full-time HVAC Journeyperson Technicians and Apprentices to join our team based out of Fort McMurray, AB. The role will consist of a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation, with 12-hour day shifts covering 84 hours per shift cycle. Flights from Calgary and Edmonton to CNRL Horizon and camp accommodations are provided. Daily transportation to and from the job site provided for local employees. Schedules, shifts, and site locations may change from time to time to meet operational requirements.
Reporting to the Frontline Foreperson and HVAC Superintendent, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and components.
Your more typical responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Completing routine generated work order requests for repairs and services
- Responding to emergencies
- Applying all codes to preventative maintenance and repairs
- Ensuring building standards are maintained
- Attending toolbox talks and safety meetings as scheduled
- Participating in safety program and maintain strict adherence to OH&S guidelines
- Apprentices: assisting Journeyperson Technicians in the tasks above
- Journeyperson Technicians: mentor Apprentices on day-to-day duties
To qualify as a HVAC Journeyperson Technician, you will need an HVAC-R ticket as an Alberta Certified Journeyperson, or Interprovincial Red Seal in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning trade in good standing. We will also consider equivalent Red Seal tickets from candidates in BC, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. Alberta Gasfitter "A" or "B" Ticket will also be considered a strong asset.
To qualify as an Apprentice, you must be a 3rd or 4th year apprentice who is registered with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT). An equivalent registration in BC, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan will be considered for this role.
You'll also join us with a valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean abstract.
Please note that you will be required to submit copies of applicable site certifications and valid trade ticket(s). Mandatory drug, alcohol, and physical ability testing will be required for all new hires.
