About the Organization
Created in 2008 and privately held, Harmac Pacific Pulp operates a Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft pulp mill on the east coast of Vancouver Island near Nanaimo, BC. Nanaimo Forest Products (NFP) Ltd., the owner of the Harmac Pacific trademark, restarted the mill with a single production line on October 3, 2008. Since that time the mill has grown to two production lines and a capacity of 380,000 tonnes of world class pulp per year.
Key to the Harmac’s success is the employee ownership model. Our employees are very active participants in the running of the business and have 2 members that they appoint to the company’s 6 seats on its Board of Directors.
The future of Harmac Pacific Pulp is looking bright. Through extensive capital investments, the organization has made significant improvements to productivity and reliability. In addition, as of 2013, installation has been completed on a 25 MW Green Energy turbo-generator which we currently use to sell power to BC Hydro, and starting in 2019 the development of an Industrial Park that leases properties to complementary businesses.

About the Opportunity
Harmac Pacific currently has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Industrial Electrician to join our maintenance team in Nanaimo, B.C.
Our new Industrial Electrician will work as part of an integrated maintenance team that provides the full range of maintenance support for our 380,000 tonne per year pulp mill. This position comes under a Labour Agreement with the PPWC Local#8 union and is scheduled on a 4 day/10 hour per day work week.
To qualify for this role, you should have an Interprovincial Electrical Trades Qualification. You must also be extremely organized, and able to work well independently, and as part of a team.
We are looking for an individual who is interested in pursuing a career with our company and is open to contributing to the extent of their abilities. You must be able to participate as a member of a team of business partners who have a common interest in the success of the business. You are an independent self-starter, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a sound base of knowledge and experience in the installation and maintenance of industrial electrical equipment. You are highly organized and adaptable to changes in the work environment.
