About the Opportunity
REIMAR Construction is currently looking to employ a Project Coordinator to join our team in Hamilton, Ontario on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all functions of assigned projects, including budgeting, pre-start planning and job startup. More specifically, your day-to-day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Contributing to a safe, positive work environment while ensuring all employees are aligned with company goals
- Guaranteeing satisfaction and value for customers and suppliers
- Tracking the budget and implementation of all assigned jobs
- Participating in planning, including design, staffing, changes and implementation
- Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanour that reflects the company’s image
- Keeping abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and all related government regulations
- Ensuring there is a safety focus and that all safety procedures and regulations are adhered to
- Protecting the company’s intellectual, confidential, and proprietary rights and information
- Ensuring all field work orders and/or change orders are completed
- Maintaining an active presence with customers, vendors and subcontractors
- Backing up the Project Manager when necessary
- Attending department and all-staff meetings
- Completing other related tasks as assigned
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you will need at least 1 year of demonstrated job and site management experience, along with previous construction work experience within Canada. Completion of a college degree in engineering, construction management with a major in project management, or other related field is preferred. In addition, you must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract. Fluency in English (verbal and written) is also required.
As our ideal candidate, you will have the ability to read, analyze and interpret industry/trade magazines, and have excellent knowledge of the industry and trends impacting the business. You are able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, and have an excellent understanding of the principles of operations and customer support.
Basic computer skills and experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and email, as well as the ability to do routine math calculations (including computation of sales costs and quotes) is also needed.
