About the Opportunity
REIMAR Construction is currently looking to employ a Concrete Finishing Foreman to join our team in Hamilton, Ontario on a full-time basis. Reporting to the General Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising the work of concrete labourers on job sites and ensuring that projects are carried out on time and within budget.
More specifically, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing all activities related to placing and finishing concrete slabs, both on-grade and suspended
- Working alongside crew members to assist with the placing and finishing of concrete
- Consulting blueprints, plans and drawings to ensure project accuracy
- Evaluating the performance of concrete labourers and providing guidance as needed
- Managing project materials and resources, including ensuring tools and equipment are adequately maintained
- Problem-solving and resolving all issues that may affect project quality and completion
- Maintaining accurate project records as required
- Ensuring the safety of crew members and enforcing compliance with all safety regulations
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you will need a minimum of 5 years of experience working as a concrete foreman, along with previous construction work experience within Canada. In addition, you must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract. Fluency in English is also required, while fluency in Portuguese or Spanish would be assets, but are not required.
As our ideal candidate, you will have strong organizational, time management and verbal and written communication skills. You should be detail-oriented, able to interpret building plans and blueprints, and have working knowledge of construction tools and equipment. Moreover, you must also demonstrate exceptional team leadership skills, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Basic computer skills and experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and email is also needed.
