About the Opportunity

Fairmont Pacific Rim is currently looking to employ a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) to join our team in Vancouver, BC on a full-time or part-time basis. Reporting to the Spa Manager, you will be responsible for delivering daily treatments to clients. More specifically, your responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Connecting with guests and consistently offering professional, friendly and engaging 5 star service that is sure to impress our most discerning clients
  • Striving to create the most relaxing atmosphere for your clients, making their comfort your top priority while performing 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 minute massages
  • Anticipating guests’ needs and catering your service to each person by acknowledging and responding to these needs and exceeding their expectations
  • Taking pride in the 8,500 square foot spa and its nine treatment areas, focusing on cleanliness and ensuring all equipment is in safe working order while forming a serene setting
  • Learning about and participating in other areas of the spa operation, such as body treatments, product knowledge and retail sales
  • Processing client intakes, and maintaining guest records in compliance with CMTBC standards
  • Maintaining a clean, hygienic and neat work environment at all times, ensuring all equipment is in safe working order
  • Dreaming up ways to better shape guests’ overall experience, both at the spa and in the hotel overall
  • Assisting guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
  • Being a team player who takes pride in the departmental policies and procedures as well as safety and sanitation policies
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Physical aspects of the position include, but are not limited to:  

  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, sitting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps 
  • Frequent standing, bending and reaching throughout shift

More About You 

In order to qualify for this role, you will need to have current professional licenses as a Registered Massage Therapist, as well as previous experience working as a massage therapist. In addition, CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

As our ideal candidate, you will have the interpersonal and problem-solving abilities that enable you to understand and anticipate guest needs. You are excited by the spa facility and the prospect of working with elite clients in one of downtown Vancouver’s top facilities. You have the ability to focus attention on guest needs, and remain calm and courteous at all times. Moreover, you bring a can-do attitude and are willing to take on additional opportunities as needed.
