About the Opportunity

BNP Paribas Group currently has an exciting opportunity available for a GBA Regulatory Strategy & Oversight Analyst to join our team on a full-time basis. Though we are currently working remotely, the successful candidate will be expected to be based within or relocate to the province of Quebec. The job position is based in Montreal and is part of a US/Canada team. 

The GBA Regulatory Strategy & Oversight Analyst position is within the Global Banking Americas Conduct & Control Office (“GBA CCO”) team. This team is primarily responsible for establishing and upholding the permanent control framework for the Global Banking and Financial Institutions Coverage (“FIC”) businesses across the Americas, addressing the identification, assessment and monitoring of all non-financial risks, and enforcing a sound control environment.

The GBA Regulatory Strategy & Oversight team within the GBA CCO focuses on an array of transversal Conduct and Control topics aimed at the development, implementation and education around efficient and robust control processes, tools, and reporting. Specifically, the team supports platform supervision, conduct programming, regulatory remediation and governance, compliance coordination, and new transaction/activity committee coordination.

The successful candidate in this position will act as a generalist to provide transversal support to the GBA Regulatory Strategy & Oversight team in carrying out processes that facilitate and enforce compliance, regulatory and supervisory requirements. 

With varying levels of responsibility and autonomy, some of your key responsibilities as GBA Regulatory Strategy & Oversight Analyst will include:

  • Maintaining broker dealer supervisory structure and liaising with Registrations Compliance to ensure staff are in compliance with FINRA exam windows and continuing education requirements.
  • Monitoring business adherence to supervisory procedures (i.e.: logging and reporting of customer complaints, pitch books, gifts & entertainment, etc.).
  • Maintaining ADAGES, the golden source of employee data, by performing weekly updates and quarterly controls.
  • Implementing electronic communications and voice recording classification requirements for impacted staff.
  • Facilitating recurring staff attestations and re-certifications.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of efficient and robust control processes, tools, and reporting. 
  • Tracking mandatory Group and CIB training calendars and ensuring staff adherence to upcoming due dates.
  • Drafting staff communications related to transversal CCO topics.
  • Supporting regulatory remediation efforts.
  • Assisting with the coordination of compliance advisory topics.
  • Supporting ad hoc compliance and supervision based projects, including but not limited to various internal control and regulatory certifications. 

More About You

In order to qualify for this entry-level role, you will need a bachelor's degree. An understanding of global banking, and/or 1-3 years of experience in financial services with a background in operational risk, controls, compliance, audit or advisory services would be considered an asset. Recent graduates with a different mix of skills and education are encouraged to apply.
