About the Opportunity

Kinetic Construction is currently looking for full-time Carpenters to join our team at our long-term projects in Nanaimo and Victoria, BC.  

Some day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting blueprints and sketches to grasp project requirements
  • Measuring and calculating project size and materials required
  • Cutting, shaping, and smoothing lumber and other materials according to measurements
  • Constructing external and internal building elements based on agreed designs and plans
  • Inspecting sites and conducting required repairs or maintenance as needed
  • Building scaffolding and other construction structures
  • Travelling to different sites all over the island to assist on projects
  • As Senior Carpenters — guiding and mentoring junior members and apprentices in the team

In order to qualify for this role, you will have at least 5 years of experience as a Carpenter in any capacity, whether non-ticketed or at apprentice level. Being a Red Seal certified Journeyman or Journeyperson is a huge asset for this role

As our ideal candidate, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You are a strong team player who enjoys actively collaborating in all areas of the business. You will have an exceptional technical background and experience working on various structures and unique projects. 

Finally, we are looking for someone who can go above and beyond and is willing to challenge themselves to contribute to our exciting and sometimes unique construction contracts. Our team of Carpenters work closely together, and we need someone who can seamlessly fit within our highly collaborative and positive team culture.
