About the Opportunity
BNP Paribas Group currently has an exciting opportunity available for a proactive HRIS Senior Functional Analyst to join our HRIS and HR Analytics team in Human Resources on a full-time basis. Though we are currently working remotely, the successful candidate will be expected to be based within or relocate to the province of Quebec. The job position is based in Montreal and is part of a US/Canada team.
The candidate will collaborate with the internal clients and with IT, using a team approach to enable the department and overall business in meeting its business objectives while managing priorities and successful progress and delivery throughout all the stages of the Systems Development Life Cycle.
With varying levels of responsibility and autonomy, some of your key responsibilities as the HRIS Senior Functional Analyst will include:
1) Project Management:
- Performing business analysis (for PeopleSoft) while working with clients to collect business requirements, understanding the needs and constructively challenging priorities, assessing the best fit into the planning and efficient phasing of the development of the functionalities
- Acting as a liaison between IT, end-users, and project team members, utilizing both HR process knowledge and HRIS systems capabilities
- Assessing business needs to build a precise understanding of requirements and translating into functional specifications
- Project contribution at all stages of development (analysis, design, implementation and testing)
- Keeping track of the pipeline confirmed priorities, ensuring that system modules are developed, reviewed, thoroughly tested, and implemented as per user requirements
2) Database Management/HR Workflow:
- Enhancing HR Systems to provide employee information to external environments as required by the business
- Providing technical support to Human Resources staff and end users of HR developed applications
- Participating in auditing and maintenance of employee records, including HR status updates, terminations, and new hires
- Preparing data uploads and assisting with reconciling data between PeopleSoft and other internal compensation systems, including Payroll
- Helping maintain HR and payroll data integrity in the systems by running queries, analyzing data, and creating and running various reconciliations
- Controlling data quality of information within HRIS systems; validating changes related to HRIS data
- Assisting in administering various HRIS java systems
- Supporting the maintenance and development of various HR applications
- Maintaining all HR tables necessary to administer the database
3) Reporting/Analysis:
- Preparing monthly reporting for HR, Internal Stakeholders and External Audits
- Creating and utilizing reports and data queries to authenticate integrity of employee information
- Partnering with HR, Finance, IT and other departments and providing essential reporting and support to firm management
- Validating and reporting employee headcount data on a monthly basis; identifying and resolving differences between Finance and Human Resources systems
- Providing summary level and detailed reports incrementally and on an ad-hoc basis - including overtime reports, time-off management, headcount reports, payroll reports
4) Additional Missions May Include:
- Participating in alternative systems research and RFPs
- Supporting and assisting new product implementation both within Human Resources and outside the department
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you will need a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance, or a similar relevant field, with 7-10 years of HRIS experience. Experience with HRIS systems such as Peoplesoft HCM and Oracle is preferred. Knowledge of Business Objects, previous experience working in finance or in a large, complex organization, and the ability to create complex queries in SQL are strong assets to have.

Proficient computer skills, specifically in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint are required.
