About the Opportunity
Currently, Nelson Motors & Equipment is looking for qualified and full-time Agriculture Equipment Technicians in all our locations in Saskatchewan — Avonlea, Estevan, Oxbow, Radville, and Redvers. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to pick the shop that fits their lifestyle, and we will prioritize to accommodate your needs as part of our team.
In addition, your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining outstanding customer and colleague relationships
- Performing complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on agricultural and turf equipment
- Working both in-field and in-shop, independently and requiring very little direction
- Knowing expert troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment
- Cleaning and setting up equipment and accessories within the standard time
- Conducting pre-operational checks on equipment
- Monitoring the machine operation and performing in-process checks, making adjustments as necessary
- Mentoring and guiding junior members of the team
- Lifting heavy machinery components of at least 75 lbs repeatedly
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you must have:
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License with preferred forklift experience
- A completion of a certified trade program such as Agriculture Equipment Technician, Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic, or equivalent
- A high school diploma or equivalent education
- Proficient computer skills
In addition, 2-3 years experience in the Agriculture Machinery sector combined with expert designation as John Deere Certified Equipment Technician and experience as a John Deere's Service Advisor are strong assets, but not required.
Lastly, you must be a self-motivated problem-solver with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
