About the Opportunity

Friday Harbour Resort currently has exciting opportunities for Housekeeping Attendants to join our team on our facilities in Innisfil, a short drive from Barrie, ON. We have multiple opportunities for Seasonal/Part-Time, and Full-Time Housekeeping Attendants. 

The Housekeeping Attendant’s main responsibility is to maintain a clean, sanitary, comfortable and tidy environment for homeowners, members, guests and associates. This successful candidates will clean and maintain homeowner units and various resort facilities. This position is also responsible for custodial work in all areas of the resort, including use of industrial cleaning equipment, minor repairs to furniture and other equipment.

More specifically, your responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the homeowner units and preparing and cleaning occupied units after construction
  • Responsible for cleaning all public spaces including hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas
  • Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing and polishing floors, using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and waxing machines
  • Cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies by using vacuum cleaners and shampooers
  • Washing windows, walls, ceilings and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary 
  • Dusting and polishing furniture and equipment
  • Cleaning sinks, mirrors, tubs and showers and making up beds and changing linens as required
  • Moving and arranging furniture as per standard and reporting damage, theft and found articles to leaders
  • Operating mechanized cleaning equipment
  • Polishing silver accessories and metalwork such as fixtures and fittings
  • Removing debris from driveways, garages, swimming pool areas and general landscape areas
  • Assisting with maintaining the towels at the pool and keeping storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean and tidy 
  • Disinfecting equipment and supplies by using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers 
  • Maintaining all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
  • Responding to calls for housekeeping requirements such as spills or broken glass
  • Delivering any requested housekeeping items to guest rooms and ensuring all rooms are cared for and inspected as per standards
  • Receiving, recording and distributing dry cleaning garments
  • Being compliant with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensuring a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
  • Adhering to all environmental policies and programs as required

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods. Working knowledge of how to operate cleaning equipment is an asset, as is previous experience as a cleaner or housekeeper. You are able to work with little supervision while maintaining a high level of performance, with excellent customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with both other employees and guests alike.

You have a great track record of accuracy and excellence, along with the ability to adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You are able to work both indoors and outdoors with flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the physical strength and stamina to perform job duties.
