About the Opportunity

Acden currently has an exciting opportunity for an Automotive Service Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. This role will be based out of Fort McMurray, AB, on a 7-days on, 7-days off rotation.

Reporting to the Automotive Lead, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance and repairs on various light vehicles such as GMC and Ford. While working closely with the service writer and parts department, you will also train and coach apprentices.

Your more typical responsibilities will include:

  • Performing installation, diagnostic, troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment in an efficient, safe and effective manner at all times
  • Completing front-end alignments and tire repair
  • Estimating, invoicing, and maintaining accurate reporting and documentation on performed work
  • Keeping the required documentation in an orderly, legible, clear and accurate manner
  • Ensuring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used as required
  • Reporting any unsafe, and potential hazardous work conditions
  • Participating in the shop safety program and maintaining strict adherence to occupational health and safety guidelines
  • Following company policies and procedures as well as safety policies and procedures
  • Ensuring customer requirements are met

In order to qualify for this role, you will join us with at least 1-3 years of experience as an Alberta Certified Journeyperson or Red Seal Automotive Service Technician. You'll also need a valid Class 5 Driver's License, a clean abstract and working knowledge of automotive safety. Previous experience working in a shop environment is a strong asset, as is previous experience with light vehicles and 4-wheel drive.

Please note that you will be required to submit copies of applicable site certifications and valid trade ticket(s).
