About the Opportunity  

Blue Mountain Power Co-op is seeking a motivated Electrical Estimator to join our team in Rocky Mountain House, AB, on a full-time basis. 

As our new Electrical Estimator, you'll work to deliver proposals, drive and supervise projects to completion, and provide a great customer experience along the way.  

Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Answering phone calls from the general public as well as managing in-person visits
  • Preparing estimates and proposals regarding electrical utility systems
  • Preparing materials, cost and timing estimates, reports, and other specifications for electrical utility systems
  • Analyzing and reviewing past estimates to more accurately project future prices for jobs
  • Communicating with teams on-site to track project progress
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with members, contractors, and suppliers
  • Monitoring schedule, meeting deadlines and ensuring accountability
  • Ensuring repairs are in line with safety codes and standards
  • Preparing estimator documentation
  • Working collaboratively with the rest of the team

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will join us with a strong interest in estimating and customer service. Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications will also be required. Experience in the electrical utility estimating field as well as a related degree or education would be an asset. Training will be provided to the successful candidate.

As our ideal candidate, you will have excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, allowing you to work with both the general public and internal teams. Your strong attention to detail combined with your natural aptitude for organizing, negotiating and multi-tasking will ensure your success within this role. Utilizing your effective communication abilities, you'll work diligently towards competing deadlines while continuously providing relevant updates to our team and clients.
