About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for multiple knowledgeable and experienced Senior Technician, Field Service Representatives who are interested in working on cutting-edge technologies, to join our team in a contract assignment in Saudi Arabia on a full-time basis.
Working with a highly motivated team, you will use your mechanical and technical expertise to assist with inspections, maintenance, repair and upgrades across a fleet of light armoured vehicles.
This is a one year unaccompanied fixed-term contract assignment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The company will not support the entry or stay of a spouse, dependents or visitors. This position includes suitable, furnished living accommodations and transportation, and will begin with a training session in our London, Ontario facility.
Your duties will also include:
- Operating a family of light armoured vehicles (FOLAV) and performing storage, maintenance and exercise activities
- Conducting/supporting FOLAV off-loading activities at ports and final destinations
- Performing de-processing and incoming & outgoing inspections
- Providing technical reports, problem reports and scheduled status reports as required
- Maintaining maintenance and material status within a designated electronic data tracking tool
- Providing technical guidance and support to the customer as necessary
- Providing off-site technical, test and repair support when required
- Conducting retrofits and upgrades on FOLAV
- Conducting additional assigned tasks as directed
- Maintaining safe work practices
- Travelling to and living in Saudi Arabia
- Functioning as a team member in Saudi Arabia
In order to qualify for this role, you will have a Community College Diploma of a mechanical nature and 3-5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent Military Certification. Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, computer literacy, and the ability to perform well in a team-based environment with minimal supervision.
Other required qualifications are:
- Licensed truck, coach or automotive inter-provincial certification or equivalent work experience (e.g. MOC 400 series)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to qualify for DZ license
- Capability of meeting physical demands of the job and Anthropometric Size Requirements for confined space
- Willing to travel and work in extreme environmental conditions
- Ability to obtain a valid passport and obtain a KSA work Visa
It is a requirement that General Dynamics Land Systems - Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. As such, successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements.
