An Opportunity to Make an Impact
MasonLift currently has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in our Victoria, BC area on a full-time basis.
As our new Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs on forklifts and various types of industrial equipment on-site at customer locations. This role will see you working with the service dispatcher to respond to service calls where you will communicate with the customer contact and their staff in order to resolve their forklift and material handling needs.
While no two days will ever be alike in this role, your more typical responsibilities will include:
- Performing repairs and maintenance on material handling equipment including, but not limited to, mechanical, electronic, gas/diesel, and hydraulic systems.
- Utilizing safe work practices and procedures that follow all company Health and Safety guidelines and policies.
- Maintaining accurate work records.
- Demonstrating continuous efforts to improve efficiencies, technical skills, decrease repair time, and work cooperatively and jointly with others to provide quality customer service.
- Performing quality inspections of completed repairs in order to ensure the thoroughness and sustainability of equipment returned to service.
- Completing all necessary paperwork on-site before clearing with dispatch where you will communicate all repairs completed, any noted deficiencies, get PO numbers, and confirm the customer signing off.
- Maintaining frequent communication with dispatch, including checking in when on your way to work, when arriving at the job site, any time you leave the job site, and when you finish for the day.
- Ensuring that WIP is kept to a minimum which includes completed jobs being invoiced.
- Completing and turning in timesheets accurately on a daily basis.
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you must have exceptional customer service skills along with a valid driver's license and previous related technical experience. Previous experience working as a Field Service Technician or with a Heavy Equipment Red Seal is an asset, as would folding crane mounted truck experience.
