A New Opportunity
Currently, SCG Process has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Salvage and Repair Estimator to join our team in Langley, BC on a full-time basis. This exciting role is new to our organization and was created out of the desire to add more value to the services that we can offer our customers.
As our new Salvage and Repair Estimator, you'll work with the greater team to review parts that our customers have deemed beyond repair and either repair them or salvage them to be used by our customers in another manner. As this is a new role to the organization you'll have the opportunity to make an impact with it and help define how the role grows and operates.
While no two days will be alike in this role, some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Receiving incoming repair and salvage items from our customers.
- Organizing, identifying, labelling, and cataloguing received items.
- Reconciling received goods with our customer's records.
- Assessing the condition of all items and either refurbishing them or replacing them.
- Developing the scope, cost, and schedule for refurbishment or remanufacturing.
- Working with our other facility trades to build the scope and verify costs.
- Preparing costing and preparing customer proposals.
- Working with our channel partners to further their end-user customers once the proposal is complete.
- Conducting information sessions on the salvage program at SCG Process.
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you will need at least 10 years of experience in a trades role, preferably welding along with an understanding of the machining process. A pump industry background and rotating equipment knowledge is preferred.
As our ideal candidate for this role, you'll join us with excellent communication and teamwork skills. You'll be an action-oriented individual who is passionate about a good customer experience and finding solutions to any issues that may arise. Your strong organizational skills, technical experience, and understanding of logistics will allow you to work diligently towards many competing deadlines. Your dedication towards the work that you do, as well as your creativity and determination to improve and make things better, will help foster a positive working environment for the greater team around you.
