About the Opportunity

North Coast Community Services Society currently has an exciting opportunity for a people-oriented and enthusiastic Program Director to join our team in Prince Rupert, BC on a full-time basis. 

As our new Program Director, you'll be responsible for program delivery, success, and management. This role will see you supervising employees and advising the Executive Director on the progress and performance of each program and employee. 

While no two days will ever be alike in this pivotal role, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging employees in adherence to the strategic plan, mission, and vision. 
  • Setting goals and objectives for programs as well as creating deadlines, milestones, schedules, and processes. 
  • Working with budgets and approving expenditures for programs. 
  • Developing and evaluating strategies to monitor employee performance. 
  • Working within the BCGEU Collective Agreement to manage employees. 
  • Working with employees on needs for improvement, educational development, and educational requirements of programs. 
  • Supervising programs and providing feedback. 
  • Monitoring and getting actively involved with performance and quality improvement efforts. 
  • Recommending policy and procedures to the Executive Director. 
  • Managing risk, change, and resource management as well as taking corrective measures when necessary. 
  • Working with the Executive Director to ensure adherence to and the submission of Council on Accreditation standards, legal guidelines, and internal policies and procedures. 
  • Reading and signing off on employee program reports. 
  • Carrying our daily program management throughout the program life cycle. 
  • Carrying out reports on funders, management, and stakeholder communications. 
  • Reading, interpreting, and fully understanding funder contracts. 
  • Ensuring that deliverables are met for contracts under the direction of the Executive Director or a Designate. 
  • Carrying out financial planning and tracking petty cash, program budgets, and supply purchases under the guidance and direction of the Executive Director or designate. 

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will need a Bachelor's Degree in Human Service, Business Management or a similar relevant field along with a broad knowledge of Human Resource Management and Program Management. Strong leadership skills are also required.
