Your new career
With the ongoing growth of our client base and products, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and tech-savvy individual to join our team as a Learning & Development Specialist. This is a full-time role based out of our downtown Vancouver office.
As a key member of our Scout Learning Services team, you will be responsible for delivering a range of Learning and Development services for our clients. More specifically you'll spend your time divided across the following:
- Working with our Business Development Executives to demo our LMS software, acting as the Learning Specialist on calls with clients and prospects to explain our learning services offerings, and assisting with scoping of projects to be delivered.
- Creating and maintaining LMS & Learning Services marketing collateral.
- Acting as the implementation specialist for new clients, setting up their LMS portal, guiding them through the setup process, and providing training for system use.
- Making content recommendations for clients from our extensive content library based on their industry subject and needs.
- Creating virtual learning pathways for clients within the LMS system.
- Utilizing Articulate 360 to design and create engaging learning resources and courses including innovative information layouts, gamification, and knowledge testing.
You may be thinking 'is anyone even recruiting or utilizing learning services during these tough economic times?' and the answer is actually yes - while COVID has been challenging, our business continues to attract new clients and we've seen our existing clients continue to use our services for a number of reasons (a lot of businesses are now in a re-build phase).
What we need from you
Like everyone else we spend most of our week at work; at Scout Talent that means we take great care when it comes to choosing who joins our team. If the idea of listening to the eclectic music tastes of our team on Sonos, bobbleheads that look like team members, or quarterly team building events like our boat party last summer doesn't appeal to you then this may not be the office for you. If however, that hasn’t scared you away then you’re just the sort of person we want to hear from!
For this role, we're looking for someone with a strong understanding of the concept of Learning & Development as well as Learning Management Systems. Instructional design experience will also be required including the use of:
- Articulate 360 or other eLearning tools (such as Adobe Captivate, iSpring, elucidat)
- Screen capturing technology (such as Loom, Peek, Camtasia)
- Basic graphic/motion design tools (Canva/Biteable/Toonly)
The ability to apply instructional design concepts and theories to course, assessment, image and video creation will be important.
To be successful in this role and within our business, you will also need to be a quick learner and fairly tech-savvy in order to quickly learn our LMS and be the expert in how to use it effectively. As you will be regularly communicating with prospects and clients through demonstrations, implementation kick-off calls, training sessions and project review meetings, it's crucial you have well-developed communication skills, a professional phone manner, and confidence in your knowledge.
Finally, the right attitude is going to go a long way in securing your success. You need to be able to balance a drive for hitting quality KPIs, focus on process improvements and a strong work ethic, with a personable manner, a flexible approach to teamwork and an unbreakable focus on providing customer service that exceeds expectations.
The Benefits
For your hard work, you’ll be rewarded with an attractive annual salary along with a commission structure based on your monthly sales. Additionally, you’ll also enjoy a host of other benefits including:
- A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision and more.
- Life and Long-term Disability Insurance.
- Quarterly staff awards nights, parties, and celebration of achievements. Past events have included painting classes, bowling, and renting out a boat! Our most recent event was a socially distanced gathering for tacos in the park.
- The opportunity to attend the annual Global Gathering - in the past we've been to Vegas, Singapore, Cancun, Paris, Hawaii and New Zealand to name a few.
- RRSP matching.
- Complimentary gym access and free coffee/fruit and snacks in the office.
- Two (2) weeks’ vacation time to start, with the opportunity to earn up to five (5) weeks as your career with Scout Talent progresses.
Our organization's culture is underpinned by the core values of innovation, enthusiasm, ownership, success, respect, transparency, and wellbeing. If this is a culture you think you could thrive within then we want to hear from you!
