About the Opportunity
Rowe's Realty currently has an exciting opportunity for a Building Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Hay River, NT on a full-time basis. Some weekend and evening work will be required in this role as will travel to various property locations.
As our new Maintenance Supervisor, you'll report to the Property Manager while being responsible for the maintenance of residential and commercial property located in Hay River, Ft. Smith, Ft. Simpson, Yellowknife, and Whitehorse.
Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:
- Providing customer service by dealing effectively and daily with tenant requests and concerns in a timely fashion.
- Supervising maintenance and custodial staff as well as hired trades and contractors.
- Carrying out regular property inspections in order to liaise with clients and provide direction for maintenance, grounds, and custodial staff in meeting property standards and lease agreements.
- Preparing and overseeing annual operating budgets and various cost reporting.
- Reviewing rental lease agreements to ensure compliance with maintenance schedules.
- Developing and maintaining a maintenance schedule database and work performed.
- Consulting with management regarding major repairs.
- Liaising with the Construction Department on various projects.
In order to qualify for this role, you will need 3 to 5 years of general maintenance experience including a solid technical skill set along with administrative and supervisory experience and a valid driver's licence. Familiarity with one of either plumbing, electrical, sewer, or HVAC systems is also required.
As our ideal candidate, you'll join us with excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form. Your financial management knowledge and organizational skills will combine with your proficiency with Microsoft Office in order to ensure your success in this role. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage conflict will enable you to work towards competing deadlines diligently while managing various stakeholders. You'll also join us with a natural aptitude for excellent customer service.
