An Opportunity to Work with a Premium Brand
ML-Truck Equipment has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Shop Technician to join our collaborative team in Abbotsford, BC on a full-time basis. The hours of this role will be 7.30 am to 4 pm though this may be subject to change based on our customer's needs.
As our new Shop Technician, you'll work to carry out assigned repairs and installations in a prompt, safe, and efficient manner in order to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Your more typical responsibilities within this role will include:
- Determining repairs and fabrication requirements with accuracy.
- Recommending additional required repairs at the time of initial inspection should they be needed.
- Maintaining an adequate supply of hand tools.
- Obtaining shop authorization for all repairs.
- Completing high quality work within the allocated times.
- Ensuring repairs and installations are completed and equipment is parked and secured in a safe and satisfactory condition by completing a final check.
- Informing the supervisor of any problems, delays, or deficiencies that cannot be resolved.
- Performing mechanical repairs, installations, and welding when required.
- Performing paint and body repairs as required.
- Monitoring time spent versus time quoted.
- Completing clear and accurate service documentation including PDI forms on new equipment, service reports on repairs, and inspection, estimate, and parts forms on retail equipment.
- Signing off that repairs have been completed properly.
- Tagging and returning warranty parts and disposing of retail parts after Customer pickup has occurred.
- Ensuring compliance with OH&S and Company directed safety policies at all times.
- Ensuring the workplace is uncluttered, clean, and in an environmentally sound condition.
- Wearing and using proper safety clothing and equipment in accordance with provincial standards.
- Using and maintaining tools, equipment, and shop manuals in a satisfactory manner.
- Completing visual, operational, and fluid level checks on tools and shop equipment prior to use.
- Assisting with the maintenance of the shop and buildings as required.
- Ensuring knowledge of and compliance with WHMIS.
- Ensuring that proper procedure is adhered to for the disposal of hazardous waste material.
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you will have exceptional customer service skills along with previous mechanical experience or a background working with cranes and truck-mounted equipment and a valid driver's licence. Previous crane experience is preferred.
