About the Opportunity

Currently, Starfire Glazing has an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Sales Estimator to join our team in Surrey, BC on a full-time basis. A relocation package can be negotiated with the successful candidate should it be required by them.

As the new Senior Estimator, you will work to ensure that our bids are accurate while also remaining competitive in order to increase our organization's sales volume. Our material supply partners, Kawneer, Alumicor, CRL US Aluminum and Standard are our metal supply partners and all glass materials as specified. 

Some of your key responsibilities within this role will include:

  • Preparing accurate material "take-offs" and requesting material pricing from preferred vendors. 
  • Qualifying tender requests and ensuring bid packages are provided by the due date. 
  • Preparing and submitting attractive, accurate, and competitive bid packages with detailed bid price tender proposal letters. 
  • Following established company organizational systems and maintaining up to date records, budgets, and bid documents. 
  • Collaborating with the purchasing department and the outside team to ensure projects are executed in accordance with contracted specifications and Starfire bid proposals. 
  • Pricing all changes and requested prices on contracts.
  • Participating in weekly pre-construction meetings with office team members. 
  • Communicating with GC's, vendors, and clients in a professional manner while also upholding company objectives.  

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will need a minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Glazing Sales Estimator along with an Architectural Technology Diploma, an Estimating Diploma, or education in a similar relevant field. You'll also join us with experience preparing budgets and detailed estimates on commercial glazing projects as well as experience in all glazed walls and skylights. Preference will be given to applicants who have worked for a Kawneer Certified Dealer.

Your strong verbal and written communication skills will be required to correspond with clients and vendors in a courteous, clear, and concise manner. The ability to multi-task and prioritize projects is essential based on deadlines and other requirements.
