About the Opportunity

Due to an exciting period of expansion, the Yukon Hospital Corporation is currently seeking multiple Registered Nurses to join us on a full-time basis in Watson Lake, YT from June 1st to September 15th with a minimum two-week assignment required. Nurses from other disciplines who feel they could make an impact with our organization are welcome to apply as well. 

As one of our Registered Nurses, you'll report to the Director of Patient Care and Experience while you administer and implement the medical and therapeutic programs ordered by the physician while also developing and implementing individualized nursing care plans. Within this role, you'll work as a team member and through the provision of treatment services and health education you'll foster an environment in which clients can achieve and maintain optimal health. 

More specific duties in this role will include:

  • Providing inpatient and outpatient/emergency care for patients
  • Assisting with planning
  • Implementing and evaluating a comprehensive family service
  • Performing various duties to contribute to the optimal functioning of the unit.  

In order to qualify for this role, you will have a diploma or degree in Nursing while being currently registered, or eligible for registration, with the Yukon Nurses Association (YRNA) and also possessing a current CPR certification. Certification in ACLS, NRP, or TNCC are all considered assets. Preference will be given to candidates who have 2 to 3 years of experience working in ER.

As our ideal candidate for this role, you will have excellent communication skills and knowledge of established practices and procedures of professional nursing care as well as knowledge of trends and developments in the nursing field. You'll be an effective team player with cross-cultural awareness and a history of initiative, good judgement, and reliability.
