Position
Truck Driver, Warehouse, Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Team Lead, Airstrip this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate and drive trucks, including tractor-trailers or semi-trucks, in various weather conditions. Conduct pre/post-truck checks, routine inspections, and maintain trucks in a clean, serviceable condition;
- Load, unload, and secure cargo safely, ensuring proper weight distribution. Deliver goods to designated locations while adhering to safety regulations and traffic laws;
- Operate loading and unloading equipment as authorized to handle goods and materials;
- Maintain and deliver signed delivery notes and required paperwork to relevant stakeholders. Coordinate pick-up and delivery schedules with warehouse personnel and end users;
- Report incidents, damages, safety violations, and security concerns promptly. Participate in safety training, drills, and contribute to emergency response operations;
- Contribute to facility housekeeping and provide support for aircraft de-icing and marshaling operations;
- Maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas in dexterous manner; follow spotter signals; Assist with loading of or load and unload goods and materials, using specialized equipment when authorized;
- Assist in training new team members and collaborate effectively with the team and other departments; and
- Perform warehouse tasks and other assigned duties when not driving or on transport-related tasks. Follow B2Gold Nunavut’s safety policies and health & safety standards.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
- Three (3) years’ experience driving tractor-trailer, semi-truck in warehouse environment (mining or related industry preferred);
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- Valid driver’s license required (class 3 considered an asset); and
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 25kg) and work in various weather conditions.
Compensation and Benefits
For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $82,680.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $30 and overtime rate of $45) in a work year.
