Position
Heavy Equipment Operator - Warehouse, Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Team Lead, Airstrip this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Operate various heavy equipment and ground support machinery safely in diverse weather conditions, including extreme environments; Perform pre/post-operation checks, routine inspections, and ensure equipment is clean and well-maintained;
- Safely load, unload, and transport cargo, baggage, and materials. Secure loads properly using straps or slings to prevent movement during transport;
- Clear snow, slush, water, and other debris from runways, taxiways, and aprons. Support de-icing operations and maintain cleanliness around work areas;
- Assist with aircraft marshaling and provide ground support services when needed;
- Handle inbound and outbound shipments, moving materials to appropriate storage or delivery areas;
- Participate in safety training, drills, and emergency response operations as required. Report incidents, violations, or situations affecting safety, security, or B2Gold Nunavut’s reputation;
- Assist in training new team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment; and
- Perform general warehouse duties when not operating equipment. Follow B2Gold Nunavut’s safety policies and health & safety standards.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
- Five (5) years’ experience operating various equipment in a construction and a warehouse environment;
- Highschool diploma or equivalent required;
- Valid driver’s license required (class 3 considered an asset); and
- Completion of Heavy Equipment Operator program considered an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $105,417 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $38.25 and overtime rate of $57.38) in a work year.
