Position
Superintendent, Supply Chain, Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Manager, Logistics and Materials, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the execution of standards, controls, policies, procedures, and performance metrics to effectively and efficiently manage procurement, materials management and fleet activities;
- Identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results;
- Negotiate and secure contracts with vendors of physical products and inventory, and contracts for services provider;
- Implement the logistic plans associated with the annual sealift and winter ice road;
- Conduct meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost out and improvement;
- Monitors and maintains key performance indicators and cost performance measurements;
- Works in collaboration with Operations, Construction, Maintenance, and mining teams to establish inventory levels to meet demands;
- Aids in flight operations/logistics management;
- Provide the leadership for the efficient, accurate and cost-effective operation of the receiving, storage, retrieval, order preparation and shipping functions;
- Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews, implementing productive, quality, and customer-service standards; and resolving problems & identifying warehouse system improvements;
- Implement best practices in procurement and supplier management to support site and operational objectives; and
- Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
- Seven (7) years' experience in warehousing, logistics and purchasing role in the mining industry, with three (3) years in a leadership capacity;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or related discipline;
- Flight operations or logistics experience considered an asset;
- Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP) certification required; and
- Experience working at a remote mine site, with preference for those that have previously worked in arctic environments.
Compensation and Benefits
For informational purposes, the annual salary for the role is $165,000.00
