Position

Team Lead, Housekeeping, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Supervisor, Housekeeping, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

Allocate daily tasks to workers, ensuring they have the necessary tools, equipment, and training to complete their assignments efficiently;
Perform regular quality checks on completed work, ensuring tasks are completed to the required standards and addressing any deficiencies;
Support the team with hands-on cleaning tasks such as making beds, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash, and cleaning restrooms when necessary;
Conduct comprehensive training for new employees, reviewing cleaning procedures and performance expectations;
Organize crew changes and ensure all staff members have the necessary amount of linens and cleaning supplies to complete their workload;
Collect, review, and submit workload sheets to the administration team to ensure accurate tracking of completed tasks;
Notify site management promptly of any damages, deficits, or disturbances, ensuring these issues are addressed efficiently; and
Strictly adhere to and enforce B2Gold Nunavut health and safety rules, making sure all staff are aware of and compliant with the latest practices.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

Four (4) years of Housekeeping / Custodial experience with at least 1 year as a Lead Hand, preferably in the mining, construction, heavy industrial or production sectors;
Completion of High school diploma is preferred;
Ability to comprehend, read, write, and converse in functional English to ensure safe working conditions on site and in position.; and
Ability to lift between 0-40 pounds from floor to shoulder height.
