Position
Long Range Planner, Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Superintendent, Planning & Optimization, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the equipment fleet, including specifications, life cycle, and performance metrics;
- Build long-range maintenance plans for equipment, incorporating preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities;
- Create detailed schedules for major maintenance activities, such as equipment overhauls, component replacements, and inspections, considering the availability of resources and the impact on production timelines;
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless execution of planned maintenance activities;
- Work closely with procurement and inventory management to ensure availability of spare parts and resources for scheduled maintenance;
- Manage work orders and make recommendations in compliance with long range maintenance requirements of site equipment;
- Utilize asset management systems to track equipment history, monitor key performance indicators, and identify areas for improvement;
- Analyze historical maintenance data to identify patterns and optimize preventive maintenance schedules;
- Contribute insights to the development and management of budgets for long-range maintenance plans; and
- Generate regular reports on equipment reliability, maintenance performance, and key performance indicators for management review.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
- Five (5) years' experience working in maintenance planning with preference given to those with long range planning experience in mining industry;
- Engineering, data analysis, planning or Journeyperson certificate in a relevant field is required;
- Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) or Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP) designation; and
- Working experience with maintenance equipment associated with open-pit and underground mining combined with experience in Microsoft Suite and SAP or other ERP software is considered an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $129,532.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $47 and overtime rate of $70.5) in a work year.
