Position
Pipefitter, Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Superintendent, Piping this position will be a fly in- fly out 6x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, ISO metric drawings, and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use, and lay out the sequence of tasks;
- Perform bolt ups, rigging, and hydro testing in a construction environment and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility and modules;
- Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install piping, valves, and fittings;
- Install and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic components of machines and equipment, such as pumps and cylinders;
- Perform pressure tests by increasing pressure in pipe systems and observing pressure gauges to test for leaks;
- Conduct regular worksite inspections to monitor workmanship and safety compliance;
- Adhere to all B2Gold Nunavut safety procedures and relevant regulatory requirements; and
- Participate in daily toolbox safety meetings.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
- Five (5) years’ post-certification experience in Pipefitting or Fabrication, with preference given to those with experience working on a remote site with limited resources in a construction environment;
- Journeyman Red Seal Steamfitter-Pipefitter Certification required; and
- Valid CSTS-20, H2S Alive, Confined Space, Fall Protection and CSTS certificates considered an asset.
