Position
Logistics Coordinator - Valleyview, Quebec & Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain, this position will be located in Valleyview Quebec for the seaport season and the will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Arrange B2Gold Nunavut's freight transport logistics in SAP, managing both incoming and outgoing deliveries, transfer orders, cargo reception, and related transactions;
- Supervise cargo reception at the load port and ensure that all necessary IMO DG documentation is complete in collaboration with contractors;
- Check yard inventory against vessel manifests and keep track of cargo locations. Also, examine and approve crating or container stuffing at the load port;
- Create laydown plans for management approval using the master cargo workbook;
- Ensure MLA laydown plans meet WIR transport methodology i.e.: last in / first out sequencing;
- Confirm received cargo and log it in 4CP/SAP at consolidation points. Compare planned cargo placement with actual placement during and after shipping offload;
- Create maps using aerial photos, using PO or sea can numbers for reference. Develop transport plans and schedules for management using the WIR system;
- Coordinate laydown reorganization according to the approved WIR transport plan. Keep records and report on WIR construction and operational metrics; and
- Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions to logistics operations.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience working in supply chain management, transportation/cargo management, with preference given to those with experience in remote mining environments;
- Demonstrated experience working with Marine Cargo;
- Post Secondary Diploma in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field; and
- Possession of a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is asset.
