Position
Supervisor, Preventive Maintenance, Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance plans for all critical equipment and infrastructure, including crushers, conveyors, haul trucks, and processing plants;
- Assign responsibilities, provide guidance, and monitor progress to ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and quality standards;
- Utilize predictive maintenance techniques, such as vibration analysis, infrared thermography, and oil analysis, to identify potential equipment issues before they result in downtime;
- Oversee regular inspections of mining equipment such as drills, dozers, graders, haul trucks and auxiliary equipment to identify potential issues or areas of concern before they escalate into breakdowns;
- Coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance tasks for various equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules while maximizing equipment uptime;
- Manage spare parts inventory and consumables required for preventative maintenance activities. Develop systems for tracking inventory levels, ordering replenishments, and ensuring availability of critical components to minimize equipment downtime;
- Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of preventative maintenance programs. Analyze maintenance data, identify trends, and proactively address potential issues to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs; and
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and optimization in preventative maintenance practices. Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices to enhance efficiency, safety, and reliability of maintenance operations.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
- Seven (7) years’ experience working in Preventive Maintenance or related role with Three (3) years in a supervisory position;
- Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) or Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP) designation considered an asset;
- A Nunavut WSCC Supervisory Level II qualification, or ability to obtain same; and
- Working experience with maintenance equipment associated with open-pit and underground mining combined with experience in Microsoft Suite and SAP or other ERP software is considered an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting annual salary for this role is $160,000.00
