Position
Reliability Specialist, Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs tailored to the specific needs of our mining operations;
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) investigations to identify the underlying causes of equipment failures and develop effective solutions to prevent recurrence;
- Utilize predictive maintenance techniques, such as vibration analysis, infrared thermography, and oil analysis, to identify potential equipment issues before they result in downtime;
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the reliability and performance of critical assets, providing regular reports and analysis to management;
- Lead reliability improvement initiatives, including equipment modifications, upgrades, and retrofit projects, to enhance asset reliability and reduce maintenance costs;
- Implement proactive strategies to increase equipment uptime. Diagnose equipment failures to help prevent reoccurrence;
- Develop preventive maintenance documentation for new equipment and deliver training programs to maintenance personnel on reliability best practices, equipment troubleshooting, and failure analysis techniques; and
- Act as liaison between OEM and maintenance department for support; Adhere to B2Gold Nunavut’s safety policies and procedures.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
- Five (5) years’ experience in reliability engineering, preferably in the mining or heavy equipment industry;
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, reliability engineering, or a related field;
- Solid understanding of maintenance management systems (CMMS) and reliability software tools; and
- Mobile equipment experience including shovels, drills, dozers, graders, haul trucks and auxiliary equipment.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting annual salary for this role is $140,000.00
