Position
Operator, Fuel and Water, Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to Supervisor, Site Services, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Day to day activities include fueling and servicing of stationary and mobile equipment, including gensets;
- Provide aircraft ground support by the safe and efficient operation of water trucks as required to maintain airstrip quality;
- Ensure fuel and water service schedules are completed, logged, and reported as needed;
- Aid in the daily maintenance of equipment as required. Report deficiencies in site operating equipment to supervisor;
- Complete a daily inspection of all assigned equipment;
- Maintain fuel stocking levels and report deficiencies to supervisor as required;
- Follow and promote B2Gold Nunavut’s safety policies and procedures. Partake in daily toolbox talks; and
- Aid in the Site Services team with other duties as required.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
- One (1) year of experience in a labourer position in a remote camp environment, with preference given to those with mining experience;
- Class 3 Driver’s License with airbrake endorsement required;
- Ability to work outside in harsh climates and environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme cold (-70 C) and wet conditions to high heat and humidity (30+C);
- Completion of primary school, High school diploma is preferred; and
- Ability to comprehend, read, write, and converse in functional English to ensure safe working conditions on site.
Compensation and Benefits
For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $91,637.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $33.25 and overtime rate of $49.88) in a work year.
