Position
Parts Technician, Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with suppliers to order required parts and track their delivery status to ensure timely arrival;
- Assist in kitting and staging parts according to the weekly schedule to support efficient operations at the Goose site;
- Manage the process of returning core parts to suppliers, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing;
- Coordinate the distribution of parts and equipment to maintenance teams and technicians;
- Assist maintenance teams and technicians with identifying and selecting appropriate parts for repairs and maintenance tasks;
- Maintain accurate records of parts and equipment inventory; Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment orders as needed;
- Document equipment specifications, part numbers, and relevant technical information;
- Collaborate with supply chain, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and timely resolution of any issue related to parts procurement and inventory management; and
- Adhere to B2Gold’s safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
- Four (4) years’ experience in parts coordination, inventory management or related field (mining or related industry preferred);
- Interprovincial Red Seal as a Parts Technician or a Nunavut Partsperson – Parts Technician CoQ strongly preferred;
- Valid Driver’s license required, and Forklift Certificate preferred; and
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation and Benefits
For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $118,508.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $43.00 and overtime rate of $64.50) in a work year.
