Custodian , Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Supervisor , Custodial or Designate, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing of surfaces, dusting and vacuum carpeting / area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture;
- Assist with changing and cleaning pacto toilet units;
- Make beds, change sheets, and distribute clean towels and toiletries;
- Wash, sort and fold laundry, stock linen closets and other supply areas;
- Assist with snow removal and other basic grounds support;
- Clean and disinfect public areas such as changing rooms and showers and bathroom fixtures and appliances;
- Pick up debris and empty trash containers;
- Wash windows, walls, and ceilings;
- Report and store lost and found items;
- Ensure all sleeping locations are cared for and inspected after each rotation turnover to comply with site standards;
- Notify superiors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances;
- Check stocking levels of all consumables in common areas and replace them when appropriate. Provide individual cabins/units supplies as requested; and
- Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of all company-related practices.
Competencies and Requirements
- One (1) year of housekeeping, janitorial or commercial / industrial cleaning experience. Prior work at a mine site and/or remote location is preferred;
- Completion of primary school, High school diploma is preferred; and
- Ability to comprehend, read, write, and converse in functional English to ensure safe working conditions on site and in position.
Compensation and Benefits
For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $71,656.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $26.00 and overtime rate of $39.00) in a work year.
