This year, B2Gold forecasts gold production to be 1,000,000- 1,080,000 ounces.

 

Position

 

Manager, Camp & Facilities Nunavut.

 

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, Goose Site, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the site camp, including building systems, accommodations, food service, and maintenance;
  • Plan, organize and direct administrative services such as signage, cleaning, maintenance, parking, safety inspections, security and snow removal;
  • Confirm all kitchen equipment is in good working order and cleaning products are handled and stored in accordance with WHMIS standards;
  • Inventory and manage the use camp supplies, equipment, and materials, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained;
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards and maintain records of stock, repairs, and wastage;
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of the physical property, including buildings, grounds, water systems, utilities, security. Establish a periodic review of all buildings, equipment, grounds, and vehicles related to accommodation complex operations;
  • Regularly inspect camp facilities to identify and address maintenance and repair needs. Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety and  ensure that specifications are met;
  • Coordinate the allocation of accommodations, keeping accurate records and ensuring efficient room assignments and check-in/check-out processes and economic optimization of travel; and
  • Ensure that all legislative requirements are met, involving safe food handling, fire, safety, and sanitation.

Competencies and Requirements

 

  • Ten (10) years of experience in accommodation or facilities management working on a remote site with limited access to resources;
  • A post secondary degree in hospitality management or in the alternative a relevant building trades certification; and
  • Food Safe and WHMIS certification.
