B2Gold is a low-cost international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has three operating gold mines and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Canada, Mali, the Philippines, Namibia, Columbia, Finland, and Uzbekistan. This year, B2Gold forecasts gold production to be 1,000,000- 1,080,000 ounces.

Position

Plumber, Nunavut 

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Assistant General Manager & Site Services Manager, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, and  repair water supply and plumbing systems;
• Ability to read blueprints and joist charts for hole cutting and layouts for installation;
• Install various plumbing systems using PVC, copper, cast iron, PEX, etc. and perform drain cleaning on plumbing systems;
• Ability to troubleshoot and identify trace leaks and boiler deficiencies;
• Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, brazing, and welding equipment;
• Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks;
• Install and maintain gas and liquid heating systems (air conditioning units, radiators etc.);
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, blueprints, and follow code specifications to verify layout of the plumbing & heating system;
• Identify proper materials and quantities for the maintenance and repair;
• Complete timely inspections, testing and accurate reporting of equipment defects and deficiencies;
• Install, repair, or maintain water lines in buildings;
• Perform load tests on  plumbing systems to determine proper functioning of systems; and
• Adhere to all B2Gold Nunavut safety policies and procedures.

Competencies and Requirements

• Five (5) years’ experience post-qualification in plumbing , with preference given to those with experience working on a remote site with limited access to resources;
• Journeyperson Certified Plumber (Red Seal), General Gas Fitter License, or related trade training;
• Fall Arrest, Confined Space, and Elevated Work Platform ticket are an asset; and
• Valid driver’s license.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $146,068.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $53.00 and overtime rate of $79.50) in a work year.
