About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Sales Management team and/or Dealer Principal, the Junior Sales Team Leader works directly with the Sales Consultants and Financial Service Specialists in achieving departmental goals.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the sales team on daily appointments and communicate expectations of 20 appointments per Sales Consultant per month
  • Ensure the sales team is accurately logging all appointments into DealerSocket and tracking their made, shown, write, and closed ratios
  • Coach the sales team on their outbound phone skills by conducting phone calls together and providing feedback to ensure that appointment opportunities are maximized
  • Review daily Business Development Actions with Sales Consultants and provide feedback and support to assist in the achievement of sales targets
  • Participate in daily Save a Deal meetings with the Financial Services team and review all outstanding deals listed in the Gross Log that have not been delivered
  • Follow up with all outstanding clients listed in the Gross Log and provide an update on next steps and update the Gross Log accordingly
  • Ensure the Gross Log is updated regularly with organized and detailed notes pertaining to all deals
  • Conduct daily Make a Deal meetings with the sales team and review the previous days sales activities and follow up on any outstanding worksheets, appraisals, incoming phone leads, and web lead responses
  • Conduct monthly reviews of all training completion in DealerConnect and confirm that all Sales Consultants have finished their training by end of year
  • Remain abreast on available inventory and update sales staff to optimize customer choice and inventory turn around
  • Ensure all sales department staff display and maintain high customer satisfaction ratings
  • Articulate vehicle selection, attributes, model options, features, purchase and finance options, and dealership policies/services to sales staff and customers when needed
  • Measure and report sales metrics and monitor actuals – to – plan
  • Manage customer issues and escalations
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company’s expectations as it pertains to interactions with customers, colleagues and vendors
  • Recruit highly professional sales consultants who share our company’s standards of excellence and ethics
  • Remain abreast on all product knowledge, finance options, promotions, value-add products/services, servicing plans, and industry trends
  • Perform any additional duties as outlined by management

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience as an Automotive Sales Consultant 
  • A proven track record of success in a sales capacity
  • Valid VSA License
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
  • The ability to communicate in English fluently (written and verbal)
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Deal Desking and Closing experience
  • Excellent customer service skills with the desire to exceed expectations
  • Ability to effectively respond to and meet the needs of a diverse client base
  • Computer Skills - MS Office applications, Outlook, Dealer Socket
